How Coachable Are You?

No, seriously—how coachable are you?
But here’s the thing: when we receive advice, do we actually take the time to absorb it? Too often, we rush straight into action without fully processing or strategizing. It’s a lot like making New Year’s resolutions—great intentions, but without a plan, they don’t always stick.
The Steps to Success
To truly follow through, remember these key steps:
Set an intention. Know what you want to achieve.
Find an accountability partner. Someone who will challenge and support you.
Set a timeline. Define when and how you’ll measure progress.
Check in regularly. Ask yourself: Is this working? If not, what needs to change?
And most importantly, step into progress, not perfection. If things don’t go exactly as planned, that’s okay. Did you give it your all? If so, what adjustments can you make to move closer to your goal?
The Coachability Factor
A great mentor once introduced me to the Coachability Index, a concept that completely shifted my perspective. It made me realize that before asking for coaching—or offering it—we should first ask:
🔹 How coachable am I?
🔹 What am I truly open to?
🔹 What am I willing to do to follow through on my intention?
This mindset shift has changed how I approach both giving and receiving coaching. Because here’s the truth: everyone needs a coach. Having an outside perspective helps us dig deeper, uncover blind spots, and find the answers that already exist within us.
As you move forward, find yourself a coach, be your own coach, and hold yourself accountable.
So, I’ll ask you again—how coachable are you?
Here is an assessment to figure out how coachable you are.
Please rank these on a scale of 1-5 (5 being the truest and 1 being not at all true)
